Olympic action continues second live

Good grief, is it getting worse out there in Rio? Here's a vid from Canadian hurdler Sekou Kaba, showing just how hectic things are getting in the Olympic Village.

As we get closer to the women's road race, here's something on the scary descent that claimed a number of victims in yesterday's men's race, including Australia's own Richie Porte.  Good luck to all the competitors.

So things are ticking down to the start of the women's road race in just under 40 minutes.
The Aussie team of Rachel Neylan, Gracie Elvin, Katrin Garfoot and Amanda Spratt are all signed on, which is excellent news ...
Yesterday in the men's race, British reigning Tour de France winner Chris Froome only just managed to sign on in time to make the race after a journalist shouted at him they were calling his name over the PA. Not ideal..

Ok, it's official - it's windy pretty much EVERYWHERE in the Olympic city right now ...

Grandstand's Gerard Whateley is at the swimming venue ahead of day two's action which kicks off at 2:00am (AEST), and this is what he's seeing

Such are the ferocity of the winds hitting Rio at the moment that volunteers are having to make some improvised repairs to the Olympic tennis stadium.
